Umberto Malapelle

Prof. Umberto Malapelle is Associate Professor and Chair of the Predictive Molecular Pathology Laboratory in the Department of Public Health at the University of Naples Federico II in Naples, Italy. His research centers on validation and testing of genomic biomarkers and liquid biopsy for predictive information in solid tumors, with a primary focus on non-small cell lung cancer. He co-chaired the IASLC World Conference on Lung Cancer 2025, serves as Scientific Secretary of the International Society of Liquid Biopsy, and is Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Liquid Biopsy. He is a frequent speaker at major international thoracic oncology congresses.
